In this project, a pots filling and covering production line pneumatically actuated had no control systems, was maintained and equipped with an industrial control system (ICS) to supervise and control its operation in the required sequence, starting from pots insertion, filling, covering with tin foils, covering with plastic covers and finally taking the products away about the production track. The control system is a simple IC system that contains sensors, a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and a Human Machine Interface (HMI) screen which represents the link between the production line and the user giving him the validity to control and supervise the whole operation by sending instructions to the PLC and showing the acquired data by the sensors. The system provides both automatic operation as a main option and manual operation option which is useful for faults detection and handling. Also the system can be used for filling and covering different products by simple changes of some parameters.
